Tawba Terms of Use
Accepting these terms
By using Tawba, you agree to these terms. If you disagree with any part of them, please do not use the app.
What this app is
Tawba is a personal tool for logging sins, recording repentance, and tracking your own journey. It never issues a religious ruling and never claims forgiveness — the phrase “I have repented to Allah” inside the app is only your own declaration, not a certificate of acceptance from anyone.
Limits of the religious content
Every religious text in the app (a verse, a hadith, a scholar’s words) is sourced, and graded where relevant. Even so, this content:
- Does not replace asking qualified scholars about your own circumstances, especially where scholars genuinely differ.
- Is open to correction — if you spot an error in attribution or grading, contact us using the details below.
- Does not represent an official fatwa or a binding opinion from any religious body.
License to use the app
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for your own purposes on your own devices. This license does not extend to selling, redistributing, or commercially exploiting the app.
Prohibited uses
- Reverse-engineering the app or attempting to extract its source code.
- Altering the religious content in a way that misattributes it to a source it did not come from.
- Using the app for any purpose that violates applicable law.
Intellectual property
The app’s design, code, and visual identity belong to the app’s owner. Qur’anic verses and hadith are, by their nature, public domain, and are included in the app to benefit its users, not to claim exclusivity over them.
No warranty, limitation of liability
The app is provided “as is,” without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We are not liable for any personal or religious decision made solely on the basis of the app’s content, nor for data loss from deleting the app or from device failure — which is why we recommend taking a periodic backup using “Export” in Settings.
Your responsibility for backups
Backup files you export from the app become your responsibility the moment you share them anywhere (email, cloud storage, another app) — choose a destination you trust.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continuing to use the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the new version.
Governing law
These terms are governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the Egyptian courts have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
